his innovative, highly interactive workshop which has run successfully within organizations both large and small, is now being offered on Long Island as a result of a partnership with Suffolk Suffolk Community College.
"Understanding Cultural Diversity" will lead you through exploration of the following:
bulletWhat is culture?

bulletNavigating our own culture--identifying the messages we received growing up, about gender, ethnicity, class, where we live, etc.

bulletEffective communication skills

bulletUnderstanding others and finding common ground

bulletThe role of humor in resolving conflict and tension

Previous Participants Said:

good"

fun!"

was excellent!"

"The facilitator was very engaging!"

"I enjoyed this program--it was very
good for me"

Understanding cultural diversity:

This full-day workshop offers the opportunity for reflection prior and safe* experiential exercises during the program.

I've heard horror stories about experiences people have had in "diversity" training programs.  You won't find any of that here.

You will learn:

bulletMore about yourself and your particular worldview
bulletThe truth about "difference"
bulletHow we are all more alike, than different
bulletHow to communicate better with others who may see things differently
bulletWhat gets in the way of cross-racial, cross-gender and cross-cultural difference in general

Who will benefit from this program?

Managers, teachers, counselors, social workers, medical staff--anyone whose professional effectiveness depends on the ability to develop effective relationships with others will take away something valuable from this workshop.

Make this workshop part of your development plan at work--check with your HR team and inquire about reimbursement.  Get a team of colleagues and learn together.

I look forward to seeing you there.
